San Francisco: intinerary - eKnitting, jazz and shopping!

I’m going to San Francisco today! Reason #1: to see my babe. Reason #2 (or perhaps this is a bonus): Visiting all the yarns shops! eKnitting is in Berkley, so that will be my first stop. I want to find some Adrienne Vittadini - no one around here carries that yarn, although Eva says she saw new Vittadini pattern books at the Yarn Garden the other day, so maybe they’ll start carrying the yarn too? But I digress…

My sweetie has a fabulous itinerary set up for us - art shows, dinners, jazz clubs, shopping! I’m itching to get on that plane! I’m taking a little Shetland sleeve with me for the flight - bamboo needles and a wooden cable needle - I’m so glad they haven’t banned those from flights. I did have a little metal cable needle taken away from me once last Christmas; it was one of those with the bend in the middle. Probably would have made a good weapon, though I don’t think I really look the type. However, safety first, I was happy to give it up for the cause and used a pencil on the plane instead.

Anyhow, I’m outta here - back on Tuesday! Have a good Labor Day!

I am in a need-a-new-fun-project-sort-of-a-funk.

I saw these bucket bags on eBay and thought they were so cute. I haven’t tried to felt anything yet and these would be a good sized experimental project. I actually have, in my small stash, 4 skeins of Chunky Lamb’s Pride in 2 different shades of blue that will work beautifully - I’ll be sure to post my progress.

The new Debbie Bliss #4

The new Debbie Bliss #4 is out! So many patterns and so little time.

The Stitch ‘n’ Bitch leaves us with no Stitch or Bitch

We missed everyone at the Stitch ‘n’ Bitch last night - our first attempt at attending. Scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30, we finally got to Bella Faccia at 7:45 and there wasn’t a knitting needle in the building. Well, serves us right for being so late but I was really disappointed. However, like the good girls that we are, we went to the gym for 45 minutes instead, then went home and promptly reversed our good deed with a bottle of wine between us.

I’m making progress by leaps and bounds on the felted sweater - it’s an easy, fun project. Instant gratification.

I just came across this pattern for the Ladder of Life socks. What a cool idea.
