Eva and I are headed to the Portland Stitch ‘n’ Bitch tonight - I’m so looking forward to meeting some more local knitters. I finished the back of the felted sweater so I’m bringing with me the start of the front (knitted on fun Brittany birch size 11s - I love the way the wood sounds clicking) and the Mission Falls big floppy sweater that needs the second sleeve and sides sewn up. Eva has grafting to do on a baby blanket…good conversational peices, I think. …Speaking of….
I spent Saturday morning getting the gallery page to pull from an array and read the variable number of images available and add them to the page. So, in short, all the gallery pages are really one dynamic page written in Javascript with a splash of ASP. fun fun.
Back to knitting in my spare time! That and yoga. Eva and I went to a pi yo class Sunday morning - if I can’t find just one hour in the week to fit that in, I really need to readjust my priorities. It was so energizing and relaxing. I think the Sunday morning thing helped, too.
The commenting system is up and working! Baby steps, this is coming together!
I’ve been spending so much time putting together this site that I haven’t had a lot of time to knit - except on my lunch hour - that sacred time of day that breaks up the monotony of my job. I grab a little lunch and park under a tree, listen to classical music or talk radio and knit for an hour - it makes going to work every day so much easier!
This is where the europeans have got it over us in design - I love this sweater! It’s simple, unique and memorable.
I learned another new thing on chicknits today: Colourway.co.uk is a fantastic site Rowan and Jaeger pattern book and yarn. I’ve been looking for Rowan #26 (there’s a great scaft pattern) and so I ordered that and #32, too!
I’ve been accepted to the knitting blogs web ring! I’m so excited! However, I’m so NOT ready - I’m going to have to get a move on finishing up this site. I’ve been working on this for the past two months and finally decided I would just start the blog and get the rest done in small pieces; only now, people are actually coming here (thank you thank you welcome!) and I have broken links all over the site.
So if you’ve found us, let me say, “YEAH!! Welcome to The Red Sweater!” and also that I’ll be working like mad to get the gallery in order and the rest of the content I’d planned to have running by now.
This is going to be soooo fun…
