The Red Sweater

As I begin setting up this blog, I want to reference some of the cool sites that got me interested in this in the first place. I just took up knitting last Thanksgiving as something to hold my interest over a week-long company shutdown (oh, the economy). Since then I have spent hours researching yarns and fibers, browsing and buying from eBay and building a pattern collection from sites like Velona and The Handworks Gallery. I’ve found nothing that beats the easy access to color cards found at Yarns and… but then there’s the blogs.

I didn’t even know what a blog was a few months ago and it wasn’t for lack of being on the internet. This vast underground network of personal homepages, together changing the face of internet organism - I don’t know how I missed it for so long. I do know that the world seems so much smaller when I can spend a few (to many many) minutes perusing the many accomplishments of Bonne Marie at ChicKnits or the inspirational gen x crafting of Megan at Not Martha and there are so many others. Anyhow, I just wanted to throw out a “thanks” as I attempt to add my voice to the underground and hope you find me as entertaining and inspirational as I’ve found you.
