Fuzzy Feet from Knitty.com

Fuzzy feet conquered!

And I say conquered because it took me 3.5 hours to full these suckers. It would have been easier on me if I’d thrown in a couple more pairs of jeans and a shoe, but I just kept thinking I was so close. Then it got to be sort of a game: start the washer, fill the coffee maker, coffee maker’s done, check the feet, pour the hot water into the machine, start the washer, fill the…well you have the idea.

They are really loose fitting around the top of the foot and the heel so I’m going to cut darts on each side of the top and back and sew them up a little more snuggly. Then I’ll mail them back to my mom (along with some extra Colinette Isis (chenille) to fix the sleeves of her Christmas sweater that are disintegrating - ah, another adventure in knitting)

Interlacements Yarns Review by Clara

Always armed with up-to-the-minutes news, Clara at Knitter’s Review just came out with a review of Interlacements Yarns!

If you haven’t read the comments below, this is the yarn that I used for my fuzzy feet…

One fuzzy foot down, one to go

I’m giving these to my Mom - they are completely her colors. I need to get over my black hands aversion so I can finish knitting them in time for a coming March 7th trip to Denver where we will custom full these to her feet. (Shh…she doesn’t know yet. I wonder, does she still read my blog?)

Fuzzy Foot: A Giant Sock

The giant sock is in the works! I’m really liking the way this yarn is coming out. The colors look different in natural light (like this picture) than inside at night…very interesting…. I found the gauge finally using a double strand and #13 needles. It’s a very thick and squishy fabric. The only problem is that the colors come off on my hands and blend into a dirty black. Theresa’s pattern is so clear - it’s making my first sock experience much less scary.
