Kate From Berroco

I’ve lost the charger for the battery in my digital camera and I feel at a loss without it. This last weekend I knit my first real sock - I’m not counting the fuzzy foot because it wasn’t on those tini tiny needles. Those needles, by the way, now have me feeling as though anything above a size 2 may as well be a baseball bat. And alas, I can’t show you the result - it’s made of a patterning yarn that lays out in a mock fair isle, very fun. I’m already half way through the second sock - such accomplishment!

I think I’ve found another project - I’ve only had one or two going at once lately and that feels very strange. So I’m looking at this design from Berroco called Kate. I think I’m going to adapt the pattern to fit the 20 balls of Lakeside Rowan Wool Cotton I’ve had in my stash for the last year - it will be good to get that out and wearing.

*unrelated to this post–couldn’t find an email link for you*
I really love the Lang eyelet sweater you’re knitting, and I’ve been looking for the pattern. can you tell me which book or booklet it’s in? some of the online sources don’t have photos, just titles. thanks.

    Hi Joanna,
This pattern is from an older Lang book - Fatto a Mano #137. Once in awhile I’ll see it on eBay. Let me know if you find a good source elsewhere - there’s a few of the older books that I would still like to get. Good luck!

Jamie, Deb - I’ve been thinking about that sweater too - I actually have some light green Smart Cotton bought on sale, so was looking through Berroco’s free patterns for SC.

The drop shoulders worry me though - not the most slimming look for me. Might do Paulina instead…

Thanks for the link to the Kate pattern, it’s gorgeous! I think I might just have to make that one.
Thanks also for the Bob pattern, I’m finished knitting it and just have to sew the sleeves in. It’s blocking now, so hopefully I’ll get it finished tomorrow.
