I’ve been looking for a good cabled sweater to use with some Gedifra Shetland for awhile and this one in Kate and Theresa’s knit-a-long is just perfect. I think Gedifra Shetland may be discontinued but I found a bunch of it on eBay. It’s very soft and springy when cabled. I used it to make my Dad’s sweater last year. This one (for me) will be in charcoal.
More info if you’re interested: I believe Kate’s hosting the knit-a-long and I ordered my pattern from beehivewool.com. And Steph has already finished it and provided us with lovely pictures.
Also, because I’m a sucker for a good pair of legs … er … socks, I also ordered this book. If there’s any yarn left over from the Must-Have, I’ll be making up the cabled socks to match.

I want to order that pattern and yarn, too. Do you know how many skeins the sweater takes for about a 40″ finished size?

I don’t have the pattern in front of me, but it’s dk weight and cables so I would guess over 10, depending on how many yards you have on the skein.
