This is why I knit

I like the complicated things. The journeys. The projects that stay on your needles for months, just because it takes that long to create them. And cables are my favorite.

This new sweater from Debbie Bliss, made of Cashmerino Aran, may be my winter project. It’s from a new book “The Cashmere Collection”; I don’t think it’s out yet. I saw it on Knitting Fever.com and every other project I was planning faded into the background. Can you imagine how soft this would be? If you’ve never worked with Cashmerino Aran before, make at least one small thing. I made a baby sweater with it and it was lovely.

Squishy soft…. I think I will try that yarn and do a jacket for my new grand-daughter, Sarah. (June 17th) Should be done by fall. Yes I am slow, but here you are again….INSPIRING ME! Thanks again.
P.S. I am having a huge yard sale soon and have picked my colors to make the block/squares blanket. Hope I get a lot of $$ :D

I am in awe having just started my first cable project ever - a karabella halter which pales in comparison but that sweater looks fun!

I wish there were, Jo. I’ve been so busy with other things the past few weeks that I haven’t had any time for sewing. I’m actually hoping to get out the machine later this week. Do you have a picture of yours and did you like the result?

I’ve been looking for a sweater to make out of the Cashmerino Aran and when I saw this last week, I was so excited! Now to raise the funds to buy all that yarn!

The pic on my blog (see 7-14 entry) they are VERY comfy, the waist was a tad large but with a drawstring they fit perfectly! :) Truely an easy project, just make sure you don’t stretch the fabric while sewing! ;)
