Or, he might be a better knitter than you! I got a spinning wheel for Xmas a while ago and while I pulled my hair out in frustration, my husband was cranking out fairly respectable looking yarn almost immediately.
Unfair!

Kaffe Fassett's designs were gorgeous, but I always knitted my own variation. He started me 'designing' my own knitwear, but of course, it wasn't really my own design, just a fiddle with his colours and patterns. Every now and again I want to do another one, but I think I kaffed myself out when it was really popular :)

I have to ask. Here you are commenting on designing etc., and here I am maybe only made a couple pairs of socks and scarfs and mittens, and lots of cat blankets....BUT I am wondering if you can recommend any sites that have petite patterns for my friend???? Using smaller needles doesn't work, the sweaters are still too wide!! Wish I could say that about me LOL! Thanks for any advice. Email me if you can help! thanks a bunch....cindyst_amand@yahoo.com P.S. I too would find it hard to keep a "Blog" .... I don't have the gift for conversation,,,, but love to read. So thanks for the great site!

Hey Cindy,
I noticed that the patterns in Vintage Knits were on the smallish size and there are some darling patterns in that book. Also, Rowan's patterns tend to size smaller, too.

Hi Jamie,
Re: quitting your job to be a yarn professional

heh, I did that -- now I'm a yarn shop manager

I earn less than half than I did before and had to give up health insurance for a couple years, but ya know what? I survived, and I love my job, look forward to it every day, don't like to go on vacation. I feel like I'm on vacation every day.

You need to be brave, but there is life after your "chosen" profession, if you want happiness more than money. Your choice.
